FAQ

  • How much does it cost?
  •
  • How do I see the availability of the schedule?
    • Go to www.thestudiobox.io/book, click on one of the available rental periods (2 hours, 3 hours, etc.), and then you will be taken to a calendar that shows the current availability.  This calendar is automatically updated with each booking, so it will always have the most up-to-date availability.
  •
  • What equipment do you have?
  •
  • What all is included in a rental?
    • The rental includes all equipment within the studio — paper backdrops, all lighting equipment, etc.
    • There were optional “add-ons” that you could add on to your rental for an additional charge, but those are currently unavailable.
  •
  • Didn’t you have optional “add-ons”, like a DSLR camera and 50mm prime lens, to add on to our rentals for an extra fee?
    • Yes, but they are currently unavailable.  We will be putting optional add-ons back in the future.
  •
  • Do you have pictures of the studio?
  •
  • “I don’t know how to use certain equipment.”
  • How do I book the studio?
    • Go to www.thestudiobox.io/book, click on one of the available rental periods (2 hours, 3 hours, etc.), and then you will be taken to a calendar that shows the current availability.  Decide on the time you’d like, and click that time slot. Then you will be taken through the rest of the checkout process.
    • We currently accept all major credit cards, and all transactions are secure and encrypted through Stripe.
  •
  • Can I rent the studio for just an hour?
    • 2 hours minimum is what we allow.  This is because it tends to be hard to get much done within an hour with setup, cleanup, etc., and we want to try to make sure you end up having the time you need so that you have a positive experience in the studio!
  •
  • How do I get into the studio for my rental period?
    • Immediately upon booking, you will receive an email from The Studio Box that gives you some information about your rental, links to video tutorials, etc.
    • There will be a paragraph about getting into the studio.  We used to use door codes, but now you will just use the link in the email (www.thestudiobox.io/door), enter the email you made your booking with, and then click the “Unlock Door” button to open the door to the studio! (Please check that you can successfully find your rental BEFORE your rental begins, so that we can handle any issues as soon as possible!)
    • The “Unlock Door” button will be grayed out until your rental period.  During your rental period, it will become blue and clickable.
      • (If you’re on the page right when the time turns and your rental period starts, you may need to refresh the page for the button to become blue and clickable.)
    • It can take up to 90-120 seconds after clicking the button for the door to receive the message and unlock.  We’re working on this 🙂
  •
  • Will there be anyone else at the studio during my rental period?
    • No, there will be no one from The Studio Box, nor will there be any other renters or people at the studio during your rental period — the entire space is yours during your rental period.
  •
  • Are animals allowed?
    • Yes, just clean up after they’re done.  There are brooms, dust pans, and a vacuum that you can use.

  • Can I have more than 8 people?
    • During your checkout process, you agree to a maximum of 8 people (including yourself) in the studio. If you have a situation where you would need to be able to have more than 8 people in the studio at a time, just email hellostudiobox@gmail.com about the situation!
  •
  • There is clean up time?
    • During your checkout process, you agree to end their rental period ~5 minutes before the end of their period (or more if necessary) to clean up, and put things back to what we call the “standard setup”.
    • Putting things back to the “standard setup” (or at least something close to it) allows for each renter to know what to expect when they come into the studio, so that they can plan their rental times accordingly. There are photos of the “standard setup” in the studio.

    • There are brooms, dust pans, and a vacuum to use as needed for cleaning.
